The position will contribute to shaping the future of Australia's fast-charging electric vehicle (EV) landscape. The research group for Power Systems & Optimization (headed by Dr. Elizabeth Ratnam) focuses on both the theoretical and practical aspects of controlling renewable and distributed energy sources within power grids, with a focus on creating a carbon-neutral power grid. Of particular interest are the topics of 1. mathematical modelling, 2. optimal control, 3. distributed optimization, 4. online convex optimization, 5. robustness and stability analysis, and 6. dynamics operating envelopes, in the context of power system applications including electrified transportation systems, demand-side management, distribution network operations, distributed energy storage operation, voltage stability, and energy trading in smart grids and microgrids.
