Position overview

The Research Services Hub (the Hub) provides innovative research management support for three leading HASS Colleges at ANU, the ANU College of Law, the College of Business and Economics and the College of Arts and Social Sciences. As members of leading international academies, our scholars engage in cutting edge research which transforms society. Within the three Colleges, we currently host 1 Australian Research Council Laureate Fellow, 7 Future Fellows and 22 DECRAs. We partner with, and provide expert advice and guidance to, government, business, industry and the community sector. Our Colleges deliver an extensive program of outreach and engagement, with hundreds of lectures, seminars, concerts and exhibitions offered each year.

We work in partnership alongside ANU’s leading HASS researchers to provide targeted research management support that enables our academics to develop their careers, fund their research, and strengthen their research quality and impact.

We are looking for highly motivated individuals with strong administrative and client-liaison skills who can demonstrate creativity and initiative under pressure.  Successful candidates will use their in-depth knowledge of contemporary research management practices to support research funding applications, administration and training. They will have high level verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills with superior attention to detail.  Prior experience in research management and experience in a tertiary environment is highly regarded.

Applications are invited for a number of key research administration positions within the Research Services Hub.

The Senior Research Management Coordinator (Level 6/7 – multiple positions available) is a key leadership role and provides high level, comprehensive advice, support and coordination across a diverse range of research management activities. They will liaise and build networks with a wide range of stakeholders, including funding agencies, researchers and administrators, and provide expert advice, interpretation and assistance on research policies, procedures, guidelines and initiatives. 

The Research Services Officer (Level 5 – multiple positions available) provides high quality advice, services and support to stakeholders on a wide range of research management related matters, contributing to the efficient and effective operations of the Hub team to support and promote research activities and strategies.

The successful candidates will be part of a large but close-knit and supportive team of professionals who are passionate about assisting academic staff. They will work with some of Australia’s leading researchers, have access to extensive national and international networks and comprehensive leadership and career development and progression opportunities.

Flexible working arrangements, including hybrid office/remote work may be negotiated with the successful candidate/s.
