The ANU School of Engineering within the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) is seeking casual sessional academics (tutors) for Semester 2 2021. Individuals with experience and expertise in the field of Engineering, which could include senior undergraduates with highly relevant experience, who are interested in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses are encouraged to apply.
As a casual sessional academic you will be involved in the delivery of CECS courses with support, guidance and direction from the Course Convenor and School staff.
You will work both independently and as part of a team to inspire active and evidence-based learning in our courses as well as motivate students to achieve their best and help them meet the stated learning outcomes.

Tutoring qualifications are highly regarded. If you have not already completed our Tutor Training Course, you will have the opportunity to participate in this (paid) professional development. Please note Tutor Training is compulsory for all tutors and you must be available to attend this training during O Week, Semester 2.

Review of applications will begin after the closing date and will continue until all positions have been filled. Applications may be used to fill casual sessional academic roles over the course of the Semester. Preparation for teaching in Semester 2 can commence from Monday 19 July 2021.

- A brief summary of your teaching experience, either at the ANU or another institution and include any relevant industry experience (If you have previously tutored for CECS before, please list courses tutored. Please note that Convenors may be contacted)
- A short statement describing your vision for the role of tutor
- Indication of which courses you would be interested in tutoring, a minimum of 3 to 5 (please refer to the attached SOEN course list)
- Semester 2 teaching availability for the period 19 July – 30 Dec 2021
- A current curriculum vitae (CV) which includes the names and contact details of at least three referees (preferably including a current or previous supervisor). If your CV does not include referees you can complete these online when prompted in the application form.
As a result of the ongoing change management occurring within CECS, the provided course list is not definitive and may be subject to change.
