As the ADA Web development officer, you will provide web development and technical support for a new web-based service currently in development at the Australian Data Archive (ADA), part of the Centre for Social Research and Methods (CSRM). Key duties of the role include the development and provision of web services and data infrastructure managed by the Australian Data Archive, the deployment services, and providing assistance to staff within ADA and the CSRM.
The key requirements of the role are included in the attached position description. In particular, we are looking for developers with experience in front-end and back-end web development to support the development our a new web-based registry service.
Your development experience will ideally include:
- Front end implementation and testing
- ANTD framework for UI components
- JEST - testing
- user authentication including SSO/AAF/Shibboleth and JWT
- API design, implementation and testing
- Postman - testing
- relational database design and implementation
- SQL design and optimisation
- Experience deploying dockerised web applications on Linux operating system
Version control and collaboration:
- code repository
- issue logging and tracking
- projects and kanban boards
About the Australian Data Archive
The Australian Data Archive (ADA) provides a national service for the collection and preservation of digital research data. ADA disseminates this data for secondary analysis by academic researchers and other users. The archive is based in the ANU Centre for Social Research and Methods (CSRM) at the Australian National University (ANU). Research at the CSRM focuses on the development of social research methods; analysis of social issues and policy; training in social science methods; and providing access to social scientific data through the ADA. CSRM is a joint initiative between the Social Research Centre (SRC), an ANU Enterprise business, and The Australian National University (ANU), established in 2015.
