The ANU College of Science (CoS) comprises: the Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics, the Research School of Biology, the Research School of Chemistry, the Research School of Earth Science, the Fenner School of Environment and Society, the Mathematical Sciences Institute, the Research School of Physics, and the Centre for the Public Awareness of Science. Staff and students within the ANU College of Science conduct research and delivers a research-led education program that encompasses the entire breadth of the sciences, supported by extensive international networks and by world-class facilities. The College has a strong tradition of research excellence that trains scientific leaders in disciplines in which the ANU is consistently ranked in the top twenty in the world.
Based in the Research School of Chemistry (RSC), The University Magnetic Resonance Facility (MRF) houses Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectrometers ranging from 400 to 800 MHz and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) instrumentation. The newly commissioned EPR instrument provides the ANU with he most advanced EPR capability in the southern hemisphere. The NMR equipment includes cryoprobes and ultrafast magic angle spinning equipment for chemistry and protein research.
The RSC is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Technical Officer NMR spectroscopist to lead and manage the operation of the MRF, providing scientific advice and training to users of the facility whilst leading and managing the technical and day-to-day operations of the facility.
