About us  

The Advancement office leads the development, management and coordination of all advancement activities at ANU. The office supports the University’s objectives of deepening relationships with alumni and securing long-term philanthropic income in alignment with the University’s strategic priorities as a national institution committed to excellence in research, education and contribution to public policy development. Members of the Advancement team integrate shared values – leadership, respect and inclusiveness, ethical behaviour, integrity, accountability and celebration – into their purposeful management of relationships with alumni, donors and prospective donors, within Advancement and across ANU.

The Advancement Services team supports ANU Advancement to implement strategic mass and individualised philanthropic engagement programs with alumni and supporters of the University in order to develop and embed a culture of philanthropy amongst alumni, staff, students, donors and friends and to increase philanthropic support for the University’s strategic priorities.  Within this context, the Office Administrator will provide high-level administrative services for the Advancement Services team in support of achieving the objectives outlined in the University’s overall advancement strategy.

The opportunity 

Advancement Services is seeking a highly organised Administration Officer to provide administrative support to the Director, Advancement Services & Operations including diary management, travel management, drafting of correspondence, maintenance of office filing systems and office financial and human resources processes, and other ad-hoc enquiries. This person will act as the first point of contact for the Advancement Services team, in person, phone and email, and will assist the Advancement Services management team and leadership team with project coordination, documentation, reporting, and other project management work.

Our ideal candidate 

Our ideal candidate will support the Director Advancement Services and the day-to-day administration of the Advancement Services team showing strong organisation skills, flexibility and initiative in adhering to strict confidentiality protocols. The position will interact with a range of stakeholders, engaged in fundraising and engagement activities, including donors, alumni, students, philanthropic organisations, staff and volunteers.
