The Research and Innovation Portfolio provides leadership and oversight of The Australian National University’s research strategies to deliver high quality research outcomes and impact, including through commercialisation, and industry and business engagement.
InSpace is an innovation institute dedicated to bringing together technology, science and law research to advance Australia's space industry. It is the gateway to space activities and capabilities across the University, including technology R&D, science missions, space test facilities, commercial space law, and business and finance initiatives relating to space. InSpace was created to drive co-investment with industry and government partners and focus on cross-disciplinary projects and initiatives to support Australian space business development.
This is an exciting career development opportunity for a suitably qualified operations manager, looking for a chance to drive the setup of the new headquarters for the InSpace Innovation Hub. Located within the central Research Innovation and Infrastructure (RII) arm of the Research and Innovation Portfolio, the Deputy Director, Mission Control, will play an integral role in the advancement of InSpace through the provision of strong administrative leadership and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
We are seeking a candidate who can evidence a high level of achievement in the development and implementation of innovative strategies for start-up initiatives. Experience within the University sector is highly desired. The successful applicant will be experienced in the management of operations within a similar organisation, will be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication and problem solving skills.
