Position overview

The successful applicant is expected to undertake work in all three areas of academic activity –research, education and service (including outreach). The allocation of time to each area will be discussed with the position supervisor. The Research Fellow will be required to supervise or assist in the supervision of students, and contribute cooperatively to the overall intellectual life of the School, College and University.

The research activity will focus on conducting leading-edge research on the development and optimization of high performance computational chemistry algorithms and implementations for exascale supercomputers. This will involve close cooperation with a number of US Department of Energy Laboratories, as well as with vendors such as AMD, NVIDIA and Intel. The Fellow will also be encouraged to develop new and innovative research directions in their specified scientific impact domain, including relevant collaborations.

Applications are particularly invited from researchers with an extensive and demonstrated expertise in the areas of high-performance computing or computational sciences such as, but not limited to, computational quantum chemistry and mathematics.
