Classification: ANU Officer Grade 6/7 (Administration)
Salary Package: $78,956 - $91,157 per annum plus 17% superannuation
Terms: Full time, Fixed term, (3 years, with the possibility of extension)
The ANU Biological Data Science Institute (BDSI) is a new academic unit in the Joint Colleges of Science that sits at the interface of data science and biological science. It aims to recruit, build and coordinate expertise in biological data science to accelerate the translation of biological data to biological knowledge. Operating in the space between traditional disciplines, the BDSI is positioned to collaborate widely across the ANU campus and with partner organisations to solve problems that have impact. This is a new Institute at the ANU, with an initial funding period of three (3) years.
The Senior Administration Officer reports to the Director, BDSI, and will work closely with staff within the Institute, along with liaising closely with students, the Joint Colleges of Science Administration, the College Dean and General Manager, the Deputy Dean (Education), Research Schools across the University, and external partners such as CSIRO and ACT Health.
You will provide high-level, comprehensive administrative support to the ANU Biological Data Science Institute (BDSI) and assist the Institute Director with the business planning and projects, including the preparation of operational plans and briefings, and will provide advice on policies and procedures to support the achievement of strategic goals. In the immediate term, you will be the driving force in the setting up of the Institute, finding solutions and creating new pathways. The solution-finding element of the role will continue throughout the three year term as the Institution's capacity grows and new projects are adopted.

Experience in a tertiary institution will be highly regarded. The successful candidate will be able to evidence their exceptional organisational skills; will have high-level customer service skills; and will be able to use initiative and good judgement in decision-making. They will have a proven ability to quickly and efficiently, build strong and effective stakeholder relationships.
