Salary package: $77,408 - $89,370 per annum (pro rata) plus 17% superannuation
Terms: Fixed Term (2 years), Part Time (17 hours per week)
- A senior communications role specialising in the identification of newsworthy and engaging Science, Engineering and Medicine stories from across ANU;
- A key role in the ANU newsroom working closely with journalists and ANU staff, fostering a high public profile for ANU research in science, engineering and medicine;
- An experienced writer and communicator who will produce media releases, identify stories that will get traction, write for digital and print communications channels, translate complex research and assist with media training.
ANU Strategic Communications and Public Affairs (SCAPA) tell the ANU story. SCAPA contributes to achieving the University's strategic goals by shaping public opinion, fostering ANU engagement and critical relationships, harnessing pride within the institution, and showcasing ANU excellence.
This specialist news-focused position plays a key role in media engagement and the effort to find and tell great ANU science, engineering and medical stories to a range of audiences through the media, ANU digital and print publications, and social media. The Senior Communications Officer (Science, Engineering and Medicine) will be a journalist on campus, and key contact for academic staff and the media.
