The ANU College of Engineering & Computer Science (CECS) has achieved remarkable growth in our research performance and we continually focus on building research capacity, world-class research concentrations and international research partnerships. The College drives the new and exciting initiative, the “Reimagination Project”, which will bring technological advancements closer to resolving highly complex global societal challenges. "We are looking at new ways to see traditional engineering and computer disciplines and seeking people with the right expertise, divergent thinking, motivation and confidence to 'find' and resolve critical societal issues using their technological expertise".
We currently have one Senior Research Development Coordinator position available on a full time continuing (permanent) basis. The Senior Research Development Coordinator will have a strong administration background to provide high level support and strategic advice to academic staff engaged in research grants, enabling them to achieve the strategic aims of the College in terms of research outcomes. It is also an integral part of the role to develop strong inter-department collaborations with other members of the College such as Finance, HR and School Administration. In return, you will be part of a small, close-knit team of professionals who are passionate in assisting academic staff of the College to source, apply for and manage external funding.
To ensure your success in the position, you must be willing to learn in a fast paced environment, an excellent communicator with a strong customer service focus and have the ability to interpret and provide high level advice on policy and funding guidelines. Well-developed administration and organisational skills together with the ability to exercise initiative and work cooperatively as a member of a small team is essential. Experience in a research grants environment would be advantageous. Appointment will be made commensurate with relevant qualifications and experience.
