About the ANU College of Science

Research School of Chemistry

The Research School of Chemistry was founded in 1967 and reached its 50th anniversary last year celebrating the School’s staff and research excellence.  The School currently divides its research into four themes; Biological chemistry, Inorganic chemistry, Organic chemistry and Physical & Theoretical chemistry, and hosts 47 academic and 34 professional staff members and more than 800 undergraduate and postgraduate students.  The School undertakes research and teaching in a wide range of chemical, biological materials and biomedical sciences.

Position Overview

The Manager, X-Ray Facility is responsible for the provision of an effective and cost efficient X-ray crystallographic service.  You will supervise and train researchers and students in powder, small molecule and macromolecular techniques, utilising both local and major synchrotron facilities.  The Manager, X-Ray Facility ensures the smooth day-to-day running of the facility, equipment maintenance, experimental scheduling and provides expertise in structure solution and refinement based on data derived from small-molecule, macromolecule or powder samples.
