ANU has an international reputation for research and education relevant to the health and well-being of the population of Australia, as well as that of the developing world. This is achieved through discovery research, applied research in health service settings, research-led teaching in health and medical sciences, and the translation of research findings into practice and policy. The ANU College of Health and Medicine comprises the Research School of Psychology, the ANU Medical School, the John Curtin School of Medical Research and the Research School of Population Health. These schools work together to deliver world-class research and education across the spectrum of medicine and health-related fields, working in partnership with the health sector at local, national and international levels.
The Australian Phenomics Facility supports biomedical research activities both within the ANU and for external biomedical researchers by providing the highest ethical and welfare standards for laboratory animals and ensuring that genetic and microbiological quality and integrity is maintained. This management position requires the occupant to have exceptional proficiency with managing staff, rosters and workloads and experience working with technical equipment including autoclaves to underpin their ability to lead their team and manage the area.
The successful candidate will have experience working in a laboratory or clean working environment, leading teams of people and must have a good knowledge of quality control processes, and working in a process driven environment.
If you have excellent oral and written skills with a keen eye for detail, an ability to keep meticulous records and an interest in working within a research animal facility, we would welcome an application from you. Specific experience in an animal facility is not required but would be favourable.
- Vaccinations maybe a requirement to meet the expectations of the role
- Tasks to be undertaken are of a physical and repetitive nature
- Participation in a weekend and public holiday roster may be required
