Position Overview

The Learning Community Coordinator (LCC) supports the Student Experience and Career Development team within the Division of Student Life (DSL) with implementing the Learning Communities project. The role involves coordinating and supporting a small team of Learning Community Ambassadors and assisting the SECD project officer with administrative duties related to the Learning Communities such as data collection and financial administration.

The educational philosophy of ANU is that students are part of a community of scholars (see ANU by 2020) and the Division of Student Life’s mission is to 'create opportunities for students to live, learn and grow in a diverse environment that inspires excellence." Learning Communities support this philosophy and DSL’s mission by bringing staff and students with a common interest together; creating opportunities for collaborative learning; and enabling engagement with themes that may be within or outside a member's area of study. Learning Communities offer both the means to integrate the research and educational aspects of the University and offer students a distinctive learning experience.

As the Learning Community Coordinator, you will be involved with promoting the Learning Communities and our events; communications (through social media and newsletters); supporting the Ambassadors with designing and running events that have an educational focus; and building stakeholder relationships within and outside the university.

This is a casual position available to both postgraduate and undergraduate students and involves approximately 8 hours of work per week across 26 weeks spread out over the academic year. Our ideal candidate would be enthusiastic about providing learning opportunities for others with well-developed administrative and interpersonal skills and experience with supporting small teams.

Take the lead and share with others your passion for learning. Become a Learning Community Coordinator and build a community of scholars interested in exploring ideas.
