Position overview

 

The Research School of Computer Science is seeking a research fellow to work on a project on use of planning in networked system security. The project is a collaboration between the ANU, CSIRO Data61 and the Australian Defence Science and Technology Group. Its goal is to develop scalable approaches to planning model construction and maintenance, as well as algorithmic advances in planning under uncertainty and partial observability that enable scaling to networks of practical size.

We are looking for outstanding PhD graduates with a track record of research in the field of AI planning, ideally with an emphasis on robust planning under uncertainty and partial observability and large-scale knowledge engineering for planning. Experience in network security, pentesting, or software/system vulnerability analysis is also desirable but not essential. The position is for 3 years (subject to successful regular project reviews), with the possibility of an extension to a maximum of 5 years.
