Position overview

The Centre for Aboriginal Economic Policy Research (CAEPR) invites applications for the position of Research Associate or Research Fellow (Academic Level A or B) to carry out social science research on Australian Indigenous policy that is of international and disciplinary standard and informs intellectual understanding, public debate, policy formation and social action. The successful application will be part of a small team within CAEPR specialising in Urban Indigenous development.

We are seeking someone with high level quantitative and/or qualitative skills, a strong record of publications in peer-reviewed books and journals and policy-focused reports, and a demonstrated capacity to build strong relationships with Indigenous communities and organisations, researchers, and policy makers.  A successful Level B candidate also will have demonstrated success in applying for competitive grants and in carrying out commissioned research. CAEPR is a highly collaborative research environment and we are seeking a colleague with experience in and commitment to collaborative research. We would particularly welcome applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) is the largest single College of seven Colleges at ANU. The College, which is structured into two main research schools, offers degrees in more than 20 discipline areas and excels in research across the creative arts, humanities and social sciences. The College has a substantial international research presence and is a major source of national policy advice. Our academic staff are internationally recognised for their research, and 57 are members of the Australian Academy of the Humanities, the Academy of the Social Sciences of Australia, or both.
